It's a new week, and it's been so exciting I've almost forgotten the drudgery of the preceeding one. My car was in the shop for 8 days ... I knew it was coming. In fact that played a role, however small, in my decision to come back home for the summer. Hoping to channel the money I would save staying at my parents into my car to get another 2 or 3 years out of it, while I navigate this forced career change dropped on me by the Nestle Integration. So let's talk about that first. Talked to my good friend & former boss Jake, he says that the NORCAL Nestle leadership is taking alot of heat for how poorly they handled the integration. Both top down and bottom up. They had a meeting last week, listened to grievances and openly talked about re-expansion and bringing some of the people back that they let go. Apparently no one is happy and several people have left the company in the last few weeks. Oddly enough, the people who were with Nestle BEFORE integration are the ones complaining the loudest. IRONY, it's brutal.
Me.. well, the job hunt is really going slow. Almost to the point where I'm getting worried. So I'm heading back to Sac next week, spending time with friends and doing a little leg work on the resume's I've sent out. It will be nice to hang with my SAc peeps again, both new and old. Speaking of which ... Old chums!!! Bumped into my good friend and former elder's Quorum President Dan Adkins at a devotional sunday night. That was awesome. He was the guy who was willing to take a chance on a young, long haired, somewhat brash and outspoken 19 year old kid who walked in through the doors of the chapel and into the singles ward one sunday long ago. He got my first real secular job (cleaning pools) and asked me to serve with him in the Elder's Quorum presidency as well - and pulled me back from the brink of apocalypse. It was really great to see and talk to him again.
Well, Kenny went home two sunday's ago. Always a sad moment. But being down here has given me a chance to spend time with the other three kids. Last saturday we started off down to the beach, with a pit stop at Old World Village in Huntington Beach. We had a great time, really great time. I'm very much enjoying the chance to spend a little more time with them then usual. I really love the people my oldest kids are, and are becoming. They make me very proud and very happy as I watch them continue to grow.
so, lastly, I supposed I should make a comment about the "ex-fiancee" , the engagement breaking off for good and all of the fallout over the last 10 days.
It sucks and it's sad.
I truly wish it hadn't broke down this way. I have my thoughts and feelings, but they are mine, not for public consumption. I have no desire to 'air' dirty laundry.
I wish only for happiness and apologize for hurt.
peace out
